The story

Pedro Navaja channels Puerto Rico during the 1970s—a decade shaped by migration, nightlife, contradiction, and survival. Handcrafted from 200g rabbit fur felt, its distressed charcoal finish, deliberate scars, crimson cord, and folding knife tucked into the crown evoke the quiet tension of Rubén Blades’ legendary street chronicle.

The piece carries a deeper significance through the lyric “sombrero de ala ancha,” the phrase that later inspired the name Ala Ancha Hat Co. More than a chapter within the XÍBARO Collection, Pedro Navaja stands as a wearable link to the company’s own origin story.
