The story

Representing Puerto Rico in the present and beyond, Cabulla serves as the culminating artifact of the XÍBARO Collection. Rather than drawing from a single era, it gathers fragments of the island's creative legacy into one wearable work of art.

The hat incorporates original pieces created by Puerto Rican artisans from multiple generations, allowing distinct artistic voices to coexist within a single composition. Encased within its pocket watch is sand collected from Escambrón Beach, preserving a tangible piece of Puerto Rico's shoreline.

Traditional Vejigante masks from Loíza further anchor the piece in one of the island's most enduring cultural traditions. Cabulla is conceived as an archive in itself—a celebration of Puerto Rico's past, its present, and the generations still to come.
